Chris Gayle appeared as stunned by his brutal effort against Pune Warriors India at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday as those that watched him. “Words cannot explain how I feel; maybe later on, when I’m by myself, I can reflect on what happened today,” he said.
“I’m really happy with the win from the team point of view; it puts us on top of the table. It’s one of the days where you come out and things go according to you.”
“It was a good wicket; I didn’t want to just get a hundred and blast and blast and get out. We know how quickly these games can change. I wanted to stay there till the end and bat at least 18 overs if not all,” he said.
The Jamaican revealed he had had a late night, watching his beloved Manchester United seal a record 20th league title. “Beautiful; I was up watching the game,” he said. “Good fun, good fun; hopefully RCB can win the title too. But I was up all night and couldn’t sleep. I ordered room service at 6:30 in the morning: one omelette, two pancakes and one hot chocolate. I went to bed only at 7:30 a.m. Hopefully, I get something to eat now.”
The PWI skipper Aaron Finch, sighed in resignation when asked about the loss.
