Warriors bowl, Sangakkara, Taylor out

Kumar Sangakkara did it again, dropping himself from the XI after a poor run of scores in Sunrisers Hyderabad's first five matches. Cameron White, leading Sunrisers in place of Sangakkara, said that young South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock had taken the Sri Lankan's place.
In the opposition camp, Ross Taylor went from being captain in the previous game to sitting on the bench as regular Pune Warriors captain Angelo Mathews returned, after having missed his side's match in Chennai.
With Mathews returning, and Mitchell Marsh and Steven Smith doing well, Warriors had no option but to leave Taylor out. Yuvraj Singh missed another game with his back troubles, while Sunrisers made one more change, bringing in Biplab Samantray for Ravi Teja.
Mathews, who decided to bowl, felt the Warriors' home pitch had played 'up and down' and would be slow again.
Sangakkara had left himself out in the previous season as well, when he was Deccan Chargers captain. A run of 15, 16, 23, 28 and 2 brought about his decision this time. De Kock made 524 runs at an average of 52.40 and a strike-rate of 145.55 in T20s during the South African domestic season.
Pune Warriors: Robin Uthappa (wk), Aaron Finch, Manish Pandey, Steven Smith, Angelo Mathews (capt), Mitchell Marsh, Abhishek Nayar, T Suman, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Ashok Dinda
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Parthiv Patel (wk), Cameron White (capt), Thisara Perera, Quinton de Kock, Hanuma Vihari, Ashish Reddy, Karan Sharma, Biplab Samantray, Amit Mishra, Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma
